The is nestled on an 18 acre property that sports plenty of flora and even has a pond that is close to the home. The challenge for the designers was to integrate the existing surroundings with the new and revamped structure which offers its residents some great views of the lush surroundings while it makes for a lavish contemporary home. The highlight of the home was the use of repurposed wood which pretty much helped in construction of the entire structure.

The idea here has been to create a Vietnamese home that looks lavish and yet is not too heavy on the purse strings. The front block of the home sports the living area along with the kitchen while the bedrooms are placed in the adjacent second block with an additional room on the first floor. Compact and cool this is a wonderful example of smart and savvy design.

If you’re looking for a distinctive design consider a round deck – place a fire pit in the middle and a rounded bench that’s perfect for a chilly autumn evening or a snowy winter day. Other methods of adding a personal touch could be to install planters for an herb garden a small gazebo or interestingly shaped railing.

While these compact homes reflect the best in modern architecture and design they also show the undeniable appeal of small-space living. Who doesn’t love a challenge? And what could be more challenging than stripping life down to the barest of essentials especially in an age of excess?
